NFL 2010 PLAYOFF SURVIVOR POOL RULES

  1. The entry fee is $30. All the entry fee money is initially applied to the player’s entry into the “Championship Pool.” If, during any of the first three rounds, a player does not advance, $10 of the entry fee is transferred to the “Consolation Pool” and the player is allowed to continue playing in that (Consolation) pool
    1. Example: If 40 people enter the pool, initially there is $1200 in the pool. If 15 players loose in the first three rounds, then $150 of that money is transferred to the “Consolation Pool”.
  2. The “Championship Pool”
    1. The idea is to pick one team to win during each Playoff round (Wildcard, Division and Conference).
    2. Once you pick a team, you can not pick them again.
    3. Starting with the second round (Division), players will be required to enter a tie-breaker score which will be used to determine a winner in the event that there are multiple finalists. The tie-breaker game will be a game selected by the Pool Manager
    4. A winner is declared when 1) one player remains or 2) when all remaining players are eliminated and the winner is determined by the tie breaker. The predicted score that is closest to the actual total is the winner.
    5. If a player makes the wrong selection in rounds one, two or three, they are automatically transferred to the “Consolation Pool.”
  3. The “Consolation Pool” (available starting week 2)
    1. The idea is to pick a looser team.
    2. You may not use any team you have already selected, including any teams you picked prior to moving to the Consolation` Pool.”
    3. The pool is complete when only one player remains or if all remaining players are eliminated at the same time. If all remaining players are eliminated at one time, a total point tie-breaker is used. The predicted score that is closest to the actual total is the winner.
    4. Once a player picks the wrong team in the “Consolation Pool” they are eliminated.

If you are in the Championship Bracket, Be sure to mark the team you believe will win this weekend. (you can NOT pick any team you have already picked).

If you are in the Consolation Bracket, be sure to mark the team you believe will loose this weekend (you can NOT pick any team you have already picked in either the Championship Bracket or Consolation Bracket).

TO END ANY CONFUSION ABOUT TIE BREAKER POINTS, FOR BOTH THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND CONSOLATION POOLS, THE TIE BREAKER WINNER WILL BE THE PLAYER CLOSEST TO THE ACTUAL SCORE.
