2010 ALGIERS FOOTBALL HANDICAP SWEEPSTAKES

The season begins: 9/04/2010 and concludes following the completion of the 2011 bowl games.

The 2010 AFHS will have a number of changes from previous years.

1.      There will be no more sessions or wildcard payouts. There will only be weekly and end-of-year pay outs.

2.      The weekly fee will remain $10. 90% of the total collected will be paid out on a weekly basis; 10% will be held for the end-of-year pot.

3.      To be eligible for the end-of-year money a player must:

a.     Play every week

b.    Have no more than 3 forfeits (non-selections) for the year. For last place money, NO forfeits are allowed.

4.      It is NOT necessary to play every week. However, you MUST play every week to be eligible for the end-of-year money.

The pool will still be a mix of college and pro games against the opening points spread. There will still be 18 weeks of play (like previous years, the first week will be only college selections).

You may still pay up front for the year ($180) if you wish.

This is the last year I will be running the AFHS and Pro Pools. I am working two jobs now and simply don’t have the amount of time necessary to give the pools the attention they need (which is one of the reasons the format of the AFHS pool has changed this year).

While running the pools does take a significant amount of effort, it has been you, the players, who have made it a “labor of love.”

I would like to say thanks to all those who have demonstrated their appreciation of my efforts following a win. Your contributions have been the only “payment” I have ever received from this. I have an alternative gesture for all of the past winners who were unable to grasp the concept of giving a tip.

The pool is available on the Internet at: http://www.gdrprosvcs.com.

If you have any questions regarding the pool, contact Ron at (504) 400-4771.
